Maria Jean Pratt Hopper, known more familiarly as “Ree,” is a professional genealogist and lifelong resident of Montvale, Bergen County, NJ. For the past forty-five years, she has been researching not only her husband’s Hopper Family, but many other Dutch Colonial Families in New Jersey and New York. Since 1995, she has served as the Montvale Historian and on the Montvale Historic Preservation Commission. After retiring from teaching in 2005, she published the first edition of the Hopper Family Genealogy. In 2006, she became a Certified Genealogist (CG) and over the next ten years, she helped many families discover their roots. Since then, she has been working on Vol. II, the Seventh and Eighth Generations of the family, which was published as a two-book set in 2025, along with a revised edition of the 2005 book, now designated as Volume I.

Robert S. Todd
The late Robert S. Todd, a native of New Jersey, was an artist, best known for his watercolor paintings of the animals, fish, and birds of the United States, featured in annual calendars. He was also a designer who, among other projects, designed the New Jersey license plate for “Conquer Cancer.” His beautiful watercolor
or paintings of “New Amsterdam” and “A Bergen County Farm,” were created for these books.
